In 1989 I walked into a club in Dallas to hear a band called Skinny Puppy,...they sucked and we spent our time at the bar consuming adult beverages,...pause here for effect - as we were stumbling out of the club, the next band started to play,...we did not know there was to be a next band,...
"Head like a hole, black as your soul,..." The beat pulled us back in - Trent wore plaid back then, grunge was king, the album did not yet exist, he was testing songs,...
He sang Sanctify, hanging upside down from a twenty foot chain linked fence,...I knew he was a god.
There were a little over a hundred people in that club when we crawled out, exhausted from dancing, bouncing, moshing, surfing, and drinking as if there was no tomorrow,...
If you could find every person that saw him that night - you would find a little over a hundred people who's lives were changed by his music.

I think I used the wrong words: you can remember a lot of people who are too dumb to forget... but I wish I could give something to someone who can use it - and no matter if that thing is said to be "wrong" by "normal people", and that's what Trent's doing. I'm sure if I heard his music a few months before I did I would have turned it off, but that time it meant a new way of life to me, and that is my only way to exist
